I think that

A small ag tractor with probably a min of 60HP as measured at the PTO with a diesel engine...do NOT get a gas engine
best thing to do is to go to your local ag eqpt dealer and start talking to them about your needs
do NOT go with a checkbook or open AMEX or you'll buy something
most ag eqpt dealers have highly trained and knowledgeable people working there
i've had JDeere ( the best) Case (OK) AliceChalmers (nice) and Ford ( also very good) tractors and the JDs will run higher in price, and have much higher replacement parts, but really....nothin runs like a Deere
My son, however, LOVES his Kubota
